Madrid, 30 September 2025 – Pepco Group N.V, (“Pepco”, and together with the rest of its subsidiaries “Pepco Group” or the “Group”), a leading pan-European variety discount retailer, today celebrates a historic milestone with the opening of its 4,000th store on the continent, located in Madrid. This opening reinforces the company’s commitment to both the Spanish market and the capital, where it already has 237 stores, and continues with its ambitious expansion plan.

Spain is a key market for Pepco and we will keep investing here, offering families the fashion and home products they need at excellent value for money,” explains Jorge Barrie, Country Manager of Pepco Spain, Portugal and Germany.

Strategic growth in Europe

This milestone marks a significant moment for Pepco Group, a leader in the European discount variety retail sector. The company’s presence in 18 countries enables it to leverage economies of scale, providing products with highly competitive prices.

The 4,000th store highlights Pepco’s expansion strategy and flexibility, with a model adaptable to:

  • Retail parks

  • High-street locations

Pepco plans to open 37 new stores in Spain by the end of 2026, consolidating its presence and reaffirming its commitment to the domestic market.

“This opening in Madrid marks a turning point. Not only are we celebrating a milestone, but we are also looking forward with ambition. Spain is key to our growth strategy and the potential we see in Western Europe drives us to keep innovating and expanding,” explains Jorge Gervasi, Chief Operating Officer of Pepco Western Europe.
