Pepco opens its first stores in North Macedonia

Pepco, Europe’s leading pan-European value retailer, officially opened its doors to Macedonian consumers with the simultaneous launch of two locations in Skopje. New openings are also planned for other North Macedonian locations including popular tourist cities of Ohrid and Struga.

The launch represents another milestone in the Group’s ambitious growth strategy, focused on measured expansion across Europe and selective entry into new geographies. The brand is already present in other Balkan countries such as Bulgaria where it operates 191 stores, Serbia (183), Croatia (139), Bosnia and Herzegovina (69) or Greece (60).

“Pepco was built on a very simple and powerful idea: making everyday essentials more affordable for families and simply improving their quality of life. Our business model is based on simplicity, discipline, and scale, driven by more than 4,000 stores across Europe. Today, we serve around 36 million customers every month. Our vision is a Europe where quality essentials are within reach of every household, and we are thrilled to bring this promise to North Macedonian families” said Jorge Gervasi, Pepco Chief Operating Officer of South CEE & Western Europe.

For millions of customers across Europe, Pepco has become a destination store for everyday essentials – a place where families can discover fashion, homeware and practical products that are on-trend, good quality and affordable. Pepco’s arrival in North Macedonia is set to revitalize the local retail landscape, creating new jobs and offering a modern, convenient shopping environment.

“We are proud to bring Pepco to North Macedonia as our 19th market in Europe. While our first stores open today at Capitol Mall and Ramstore Mall in Skopje, they will be quickly followed by locations in Ohrid and Struga, marking the true beginning of our local expansion. For us, entering a new market is about building long-term trust, creating local teams, and becoming part of everyday life in the communities we serve.” announced Bogdan Grigoriu, Pepco Regional Operations Director

The opening of Pepco first stores was attended by hundreds of Macedonian customers. The ribbon was cut by company leadership, local teams members and special guests like: representatives from SOS Children’s Villages, local authorities and represantatives of Polish Embassy in Skopje.
